While it has been a while since I have been able to hang out in E-town I have been wanting to check out the new art gallery. I was leaving Alberta right around the time that they were looking at the art gallery replacement candidates. I recall looking at the little mock up designs of possible new art galleries at one of our trips to the old art gallery. Neat to see the gallery completed and open.

I am not going to be one of those people that tells you that is rains all the time here but it does rain a lot in the winter. So when you get t-shirt/blue sky weather in February, you go out and take photos of it.

I do heart North Vancouver.

I woke up this morning totally feeling refreshed like i had epically overslept. I started cursing my self for over sleeping then my alarm went off. That is an awesome start to a day

I heard this helicopter but couldn’t see it for the fog.  I assumed the noise was from the helijet pad and was simply echoing about till this huge helicopter lifted up out of the fog. Kinda crazy!

Anywho I have an early morning cult meeting to attend.

About a month ago (may 3rd to be precise) Coaxial and I went for a walk about the New Westminster Quay with cameras in hand, and I am just getting about to blogging the results now. :) I wanted to try out the new 16-35 that replaced the old 16-35 as well as check out the areas of New West that I haven’t photoed yet. It was a ridiculously nice day out with bright blue skies (i know I just said that I don’t photowander in the sun) and puffy clouds.

The best part of this photo is the Star Choice Satellite dish :)

Interesting light was happening on this manhole cover so the triptych was in order!

When i was a little kid i used to play with G.I.Joes in weeds like these! I pretended that they were huge trees in an epic forest.

There was a lot of aweful graffiti about but these were the best of the bunch

16-35 =awesome! I love how the wider the lens the less dramatic the contrast of light and dark is.  My fish eye is almost always bang on exposure from light to dark.  Here I had some help filling in the shadows for the sun was reflecting off a huge white building and filled in the right side nicely! :)

The Skytrain bridge looked surreal this day. It sort of looked like it was a painted backdrop in a lower budget Sci-Fi show.

Coaxial may have found a new calling as a hillbilly.

Ya so a month old but swell none the less! Enjoy! if i get around to it i may even pull out photos from the perogiy party that we went to afterwards. But dont hold your breath! :)

Normally i don’t really like to photo walk on super sunny days, mostly do to the fact that i am proof positive that the sun actually trying to kill me, but partly because I like the soft light and even shadows of overcast days. As such i am not often privy to bright blue skies!

Despite the fact that I am a late night kinda guy, I am also one of those dreaded morning people, that everyone is so eager to dislike.  I was mandated to get up early this morning but I was OK with it because as I just said I am a morning person.  Being happy to be awake I took photos to remember the time that the morning and I spent together. Sunrises are swell.

Oh and I mentioned photos today from yesterday. I am working on it.

I have a crazy long wedding in the AM so… ya.

While waiting at the airport i thought i would garb a few photos of the place! I was waiting the whole time to get the 3rd degree from bored security guards but it never happened :)

But don’t let Coaxial tell you that beer makes you a better boarder :) I was rocking along all morning till we stopped and had lunch! Lunch came with a pitcher of beer that seemed like a good idea! It wasn’t! I was so tired and groggy not to mention tipsy. I half sucked for a couple of hours after that! All fun though!
We will prob go again on Friday! I am super stoked :)
