So it is time for my year in review post that I am planning on doing every year mostly because it is a neat way to look back at stuff and remember things.
Music
Best New to me band/artist discovered in 2008 – This is a tough one because I have found so many this year but I am going to say that it would have to be a tie between Frightened Rabbit & Clap Your Hands & Say Yeah! Frightened Rabbit because they win the award for the The Most Gratuitous Use of the Word “Fucking” in a Serious Song. Yet as in your face as it is they manage to pull it off with out it sounding cheesy :) Clap Your Hands & Say Yeah! because the singer guy gives me hope that despite an inability to really sing any one can sing in an awesome sounding band :)
Best New/to me album of 2008 – Well I haven’t really been as on top of music this year as i would have liked but I think a tie between Death Cab For Cutie‘s Narrow Stairs and Modest Mouse’s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Both these albums were a little rough for me out of the gate but after a couple of listens they are some of my favorite albums.
Best Show of 2008 – The frightened Rabbit show was probably the awesomest one ever! I love seeing bands in small venues and well the Media Club is probably the smallest one that I know! :)
Movies
Best movie – Where The Buffalo Roam. I know that this is not a new movie or anything in fact it was made in 1980 but it was the first I saw of it and it was awesome!
Worst Movie – 2001 a Space Odyssey – GOD when you go and try to watch the classics you’re cool, but when you sit though all of 2001 A Space Odyssey you are just plain stupid.

Other stuff!
Wish I had done more of – Blogged. I realized that as i went though this year’s posts that I hadn’t blogged nearly as much as I had thought that I had. And guitar! I wish that I had played more guitar.
Wish I had done less of – sitting in front of a computer, but the Macs help out a great deal with that.
Silliest thing I bought this year – Skateboard. I used it once and hurt my back. It would seem that I am some sort of old man or something.
Best thing that I bought this year – Mac glory!! I am kicking my self for not doing the mac thing earlier in my life. I guess if i hadn’t sat frustrated by PCs for all these years that i wouldn’t appreciate the greatness of Mac as much, but man that was a lot of frustration.

*nods* After you get back from jerkboarding at Whistler or Cypress or whatever, give us the Best of 2008!
