I was driving back from Richmond a while back where I was picking up the AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED from Nikon repair. The side story here is that the brilliantly sharp 14-24 had suddenly become not so sharp so we get to compare Nikon to Canon in the repair/customer service aspect & sent it in to Nikon repair so they could have a look see.
After years of fighting with Canon Repair in Calgary and having 50+ phone calls/msges go unanswered it is a super plus to have access to the Nikon folks for a face to face about any issues even if the gear has to be shipped to Toronto for anything other than a simple fix. Full disclosure the lens came back far less sharp than it had left in & I after a quick test in the parking lot I had to get them to send it back so a small minus on the Nikon repair front. All said still about 10,000% better than my Canon repair experiences!
