Snow Camping in Squamish
So it has been a crazy busy year and we are only 16 days in.
The very first day of the new year found me slowly climbing a mountain with my snowboard with Coaxial & Paul. I say slowly because I have spent the last 8 months sitting on my fat ass & I was feeling under the weather. So climbing a mountain was a bit much. We climbed up and spent the night in tents up near the first warming hut on Garibaldi Mountain.

Some of the awesome views along the trail.

This was the hole that we set our tents up in.

Snowshoes!!!

Wonderful sunsets

Loads of fun even though it was super cold over night, I would do it again in a heart beat, only next time I wouldn’t pack so much stuff (for example the warming hut had a built in stove so I didn’t need to haul one up) and next time I would not go up feeling under the weather. However, it was a great way to start the new year!

I half expected to get tackled by Olympic security forces here being that this is an Olympic venue and all but there was no problems what so ever taking these sunset photos of the PNE

Now I am off for some breakfast at Paul’s with other early weekend rising peeps :)

1 commentHome from a day of snowboarding!!
Yuppers here I am home from a day of early season boarding up at Whistler, all I have to say is Awesome!! More than half the runs and lifts weren’t open and of the ones that were there were areas of no snow, but good times were still had.
The weather was mostly clear with some foggy patches and warm, like stupidly freakishly warm. We just drove up for the day, we got on the slopes at about 10ish which was a little late but considering that I am a fat bastard all summer we figured we would be a little tuckered by 3pm when the hill closed. M came for the ride as well although she hung out in the village while we hurtled ourselves down a mountain.
The backpack was the awesome I didn’t even notice that it was there all day. In fact I even forgot that I was carrying water and stuff till around 1 O’clock. Real cameras are a must the next time I go! All in all awesome day awesome weather, and an awesome time. I am so glad that I went.

Sunset at Whytecliff Park

This was taken today at Whytecliff park during a particularly wonderful sunset. This is of course after (safely) jumping in the ocean with very expensive unprotected camera equipment, for another Trash the Dress Session. It was fun and not at all cold. I think i am going to jump in the ocean during the summer months more often, it seems to be quite preferable to lets say March in oh I don’t know Tofino for example.. :) So after our TTD/Suit session the North Shore Crew met us for BBQ and other fun foods. fun was had, and sun’s settled into mountians giving awesome light, photos were taken.
No commentsThis Weekend The Jerk Is In Tofino!
Yuppers you heard right! The jerk and his darling wife are spending the weekend in the lovley (although for me always wet!) paradise of Tofino! And for the first time ever I saw sun here! Really!! I have proof.
