Last week we did a fantastic (but really cold) photoshoot with Jenna Mack for her new website. We didn’t really plan anything we just grabbed some stuff and shot before the rain came back.

Oh Ya I went to see the Rural Alberta Advantage the other week. We have been so stupid crazy busy these past few weeks that I have totally forgotten to post about it. UN-FUCKING BELIEVABLE SHOW!!! Despite drinking far to many Pilsner and getting into it with a random douche in the front and then a doubly douchey bouncer as they were playing ‘Goodnight’ It was the best show I have seen this year. (Followed very closely by the pixies this last week) I am so glad that i was able to make this work this time around. I have been scheduled for a shoot or something equally un-movable every time they have been here before. I would have killed to see them at the Biltmore last year but alas work tends to keep me in expensive guitars and fancy cameras. So yup that :)
So no the best photos but alas I was super stupid drunk :) so Ummmm that is an excuse yes? Fun any way!

My Favourite photo!!
Playing Good Night in the middle of the floor!
Now because I always assume that everyone that reads my blog, is also religiously following my every move/whim on twitter, as well as reading all about My musical escapades with My Friend Lisa, I often forget to mention the other things that I am doing with my time outside of blogging random photos with little to no explanations.
I am in a band. It is fun, I love it & in getting the new camera I find myself flexing my old filmmaker muscles. As such we did a super quick off the floor video cut of us playing one of our original songs.
All shot with the Canon 5D Mark II and the 85mm lens. Super fun!!
Yup there was a time that I called my self a filmmaker. Around the time that I started blogging was when I was on my way out of film making and into photography.
This is a video that I made in 2000 using an analog 8mm camera and captured analog into a 300 mHz computer with 128mgs of ram and edited in Adobe Premiere. It would take days to render out the effects that I was rocken and when I wasn’t happy with something I would change it and then re-render it for days again. I won an award from the local film society and everything. But this is what I wanted to do with my life. make silly art films about nothing in particular. Long story short I became a photog instead. :)
What amazed me was things I was searching for 10 years ago are here now! Things like super shallow DOF, super easy editing, & among other things, simply super good looking video footage.
I talked to My guy down at Vistek yesterday (yup when you drop fat cash you get a guy) and he said that the mark iv is set to arrive some time next week. So I should have it in my grubby fingers very soon! :)
But I need to pack for snowbaording awesome now! See ya on the mountains :)
I have been busy so here is what I would have blogged if I wasn’t to busy to actually blog.
Roof meat

Cruise ships

Commodore for Bloc Party

Hot Hot Heat wouldn’t get of stage
I was sick for days
Didn’t get to see The Weakerthans but I had two tries :(
thats it thats all.
So last night we decided that work is for chumps and rolled on out to Richards On Richards to see Shonen Knife & Friends. What an Awesome show! Verona Grove was the first band to hit the stage.
Next was The Juliet Dagger who was actually my favorite band of the evening! (don’t get me wrong I loved Shonen Knife but these guys kicked ass!!) The really reminded me in a odd way of a E-town band that I used to see called Nothing At All (who has reformed as a Vancouver band called Careworn)
Last was Shonen Knife and they did impress! Props to a band that has been rockin out for this long!
All said it was a good time and it was a night out that I have been kinda needing!
So I was able to Smuggle in a camera to the White Stripes Show last night at Deer Lake Park, and man was it a good show.

So it has been a busy 24 hours for me. Last night after our wedding was done Josh & I went for a midnight scoot. Took a few photos in the dark of night.

Rode a few trails and avoided getting caught up in a crazy ‘bush party’ in Stanley park.
This was Miranda when I told her how many photos we shot at our wedding! :)

Breakfast at the tomahawk this morning, followed by more aimless scooting.

This is so foreign to me

The White stripes rocked

I am super tired and need to get up super early so I will post two photos and run! Arcade Fire Tomorrow!
