  1. Hey jerk,

I love this shot! But why did you choose to shoot at ISO 800?

Also wondering what kind of normal strobes (or monolights?) you use for your portrait/fashion work (brand, power, etc.)?

Thanks bro. Totally dig your work!

  2. Hey Lee thanks for the read! Ya I thought it odd that it was at ISO 800 as well! So I looked at the original files and it looks like I got these two photos backwards :) The ISO 800 Arp 1.4 was the top photo and the ISO 50 is the bottom photo. I will fix it! :) I tend to shoot with everything from flashlights/speedlights to a 2200 Watt Second Light kit :)
    – I have a pair of 150W/s Opus Strobes that I use out and about often, for they are light and easy to pack around!
    – For my studio stuff I have a pair of 500W/s Opus Strobes and the Alien Bee’s 800W/s Ring Flash
All of these are reasonably inexpensive kits and because I can tweak Colour/White Balance they seem to do me well! If I was more picky and shooting all colour film I think I would start looking at the Bowen’s or something.

  3. Heyyy!
I don’t really know you, but i plan to keep an eye on you and your work!
I came across your work via google, as i’m looking at getting the alianbees ring flash, although it is late at night, my brain is meltingggg.
I just wanted to get your feedback on the ring flash? Have you been able to hand hold the camera with the ring flash mounted on it some how? or always have to be on a tripod! :O

    Hope to hear from youuuu
I’ll check back with u later!
