Well for those that are wondering why I resolved to post everyday and haven’t for the last week, my excuse is that I was out of town for the two days, and then I have been busy with Weddings and other photo shoots, and I assure you that I am not making this all up to make you think that I have a valid excuse. Let’s start off with this Monday. On Monday I had to drive a huge Van to Calgary, meet one of the Tour guides and exchange my van for his. So that was a lot of fun I got a little lost in Calgary (You think I had never lived there before or something) but I was having a good time driving. I grabbed as many pics as I could but the Smoke form the forest fires made things pretty hazy.

On Tuesday I got to drive to Jasper for the day to take a group of Germans for an unguided canoe trip down the Athabasca River. It was great because they almost didn’t get to go to Jasper, again due to fires but when we called the trail office from Hinton the river had just opened. So I was able to grab a lot of pictures of the Mountains in and around Jasper, of which,

I should have some more online soon. Wednesday I did a lot of sleeping and caught up on my email and such, however Mike and I did get a chance to grab some long exposures of the downtown.

I also got a great shot of the moon that was almost full, a shot that wouldn’t have been possible with out the aid of digital real time feedback.

I tried getting some nice longer exposures of the car lighted by multiple flashes but they didn’t work out as well as before. So then on Thursday I spent a lot of time at mikes place trying to get our business cards in order and get them sent out to the printers and such, however I was still up in arms about the Web addy that I am going to register, so we sort of left that as is. came over later that afternoon to try some studio shots. I wasn’t really prepared creatively for a studio shoot and I was a little unsure technically as well. So it was a quick experiment in the flashes and reflectors with some very positive results

Later that evening I went out for a shoot with Carla and Shane,

but I sort of forgot that days get shorter and we missed the optimum sun but I got a few shots never the less.

Friday was a day of preparing for the Wedding shoot. I finished the business cards and decided on my URL. Miranda and I went to Greg & Anita’s rehearsal at 6 and figured out how every thing was going to work out for Saturday. their wedding was a wonderful
experience and with the single exception of the photo thank you cards, an absolute joy to do. The service was nice and the reception was even better. We were quite rushed for time for both the photo thank you cards as well as the “informal formals” but we blasted off about 1000 shots that day and we have a lot of great stuff for our portfolio.

A big thanks to Mike for lending us his extra battery and Compact Flash card. After the card & battery were returned to mike we went to Scotty’s place to pick up his Cat. You see Scotty is on vacation and requires a cat sitter so we brought Sadie over to visit us. Sadie and Darwin are getting along in a somewhat amicable manner, however, she (Sadie) is entirely uninterested in playing and as always that is all that Darwin is interested in. That brings us to today where I ran the Canoe shuttle had lunch at Barb & Ernie’s, had a nap, and coffee at Keegans, and now a note to my blog explaining my week. There will be pictures to follow from last week as well whatever new ones from this week.
