Out side of Valemount BC we came across BEARS!!

Well ok ok I will admit these are not actual real bears! I mean they are so well made and life like it can be hard to tell that they are in fact a tourist attraction at some backwoods last chance gas place near Valemount BC. But it you look closely they are statues in the parking lot :)

A Somewhat Long Walk For A Morning Coffee.

A couple of time a week I will wander over to the railtown JJ-Bean for a morning coffee. I as always take my camera and I always try and walk a different route. Today I decided to walk the long way around only to discover that the railtown JJ-Bean is closed today for renovations. I in fact even knew this… It was plastered all over the door and counter for at least the last week…. I even read it and made a mental note that they would be closed…. I remembered none of this till I got there. :) I instead walked to the Hogan’s Alley over in china town and these are the photos.

Just a few photos taken in and around my lovely DTES hood.

Papst Tall Cans for only $4.25!! Thank you The Met pub for painting this on the side of the building! I had know idea!

I think that there is a bottle depot on hastings that you actually access via an unmarked door in the alley. First i couldn’t figure why there was so many shopping carts in the the alley. Then I saw a man trying to get a bottle laden cart though the aforementioned unmarked door.

A rusty barrel in the ever entertaining alley outside our studio. I say that it is Ever entertaining mostly because there is always something interesting to watch involving the alley. Whether it is large trucks that don’t really fit trying to fit in the alley or screaming hobos interacting with absolutely no one very loudly. Perhaps it is the fauxtograpers that do really interesting things with ‘models’ or confused cars looking for 1 Gore ave.

Yup. We were at it again! It was street performing time for My Friend Lisa again this afternoon/tonight.

We all met up on Granville Street and found us a sheltered spot out of the rain and we played a bunch of songs. In fact we played a bunch of songs for nearly 4 hours at various spots along Granville street. We had an awesome visit from a man named Arnold. He was really drunk, and he had an upside down cross tattooed on his forehead. Thankfully Lani who is very experienced at dealing with the drunkin Arnold’s of the world was able to get him to not sit down smack dab in the middle of our circle.

We sort of had a nice rotating cast of performers that came and went as their schedules allowed, and worry not Renee for next time we will totally remember to bring out the awesome Casio of DOOM!!! for you to rock out upon. Although I have to say you were doing pretty good with the making up songs as we went!!
