More Alberta
More photos from our road trip back home this last week. I am constantly amazed at how small towns do not really change over time, there may be a new store here and there or more likely the change is the name of the store. To explain I find it really funny that all the change i could find in E-town and in Westlock was that all the businesses i knew are no longer there but they are replaced with a nearly identical retailer with a different name. Examples are the bargain shop is replaced with another bargain shop type business with a different name or logo. Clothing shops on Whyte Ave are still clothing shops but they are selling under a different name. Or the rotating restaurant/bar that is always in the same location and in fact reopens with a new name but with no other renovations :)

Grizzly Bear
While Driving back from Alberta we came across this bear. we were in the X-Terra on the other side of the highway with a steep ditch between us and even with a 70-200 I felt a little to close :) He meandered along for a few and then took off into the bush.

So I will be live Flickring with the EYE-Fi Card on the way back. So as long as we have cell service you can follow along here http://www.flickr.com/photos/reillyphoto/

Westlock is one of the small towns that I spent my mis-spent youth in. We were back there for easter so here we have photos.

Art Gallery Of Alberta
While it has been a while since I have been able to hang out in E-town I have been wanting to check out the new art gallery. I was leaving Alberta right around the time that they were looking at the art gallery replacement candidates. I recall looking at the little mock up designs of possible new art galleries at one of our trips to the old art gallery. Neat to see the gallery completed and open.

1 commentEvery Day Is a Gift.

I found this while on route to one of our favourite Main street restaurants Locus. I saw it as we drove by and made a point to wander over after our fine meal. I actually think that missing/rearranged letters make it better :)
No commentsSquamish Fair
We were on route to squamish mostly because it was a nice day out, that and we were in search of some world famous pulled pork. Which was totally fan-freaking-tastic. so the next time you are in Squamish I totally recommend the Campfire Grill in the Eagle Vista RV park mid Squamish.
Coaxial spotted a fair on the way in and we stopped in after our fine meal.

It was just like the ones that would come to our little prairie towns in Alberta had 6 or 7 rides and a bunch of shady looking carny’s trying to steal our money :)
No commentsNew Custom Guitar Case
It would seem that our life is managing to getting back to normal. So much in fact that I even had the time to be creative over this weekend. This is case number three in my custom art guitar cases and I have had the source book for this for at least two years just waiting for something to do with it. I enjoy that this is a mesh of the two big creative things in my life Music and Photography! :)

I still need to seal the top with urethane but I am getting better at this whole custom decoupage cases. I am also looking at what else I could do for artistic custom guitar things. I have a pile of old band t-shirts that I have collected from people over the last while that I have some ideas about what to do with as well.
