I love that My computers Know about the other computers

So I absolutely adore that my Macs know about each other, but know about each other to the point that Network Neighborhood will display the type of Computer as the icon IE: 27″ Imac, a 13″ macbook, a smaller 17″ Imac, or the lonely PC complete with Blue Screen. Wait What?!

Yup I have no idea how I have missed this until now but the Network Icon for PC’s come complete with a Blue Screen Of Death! AWESOME!!!

Our Trip to the Dominican Republic.

Another update in the spirit of an already super busy 2011.

After hanging out over night on a mountain in the dead of winter, I took off to the Dominican Republic for a week in order to hang out on a beach in the dead of awesome! It was a work trip so it wasn’t all beaches and Cerveza but there was some awesome relaxing/sleeping till noon/double deserts to be had. There were also some really great night photos to be had. My favorite part of this night was trying to explain to one of the resort staff what exactly it was that I was up to with a camera on the beach at 2am.  Explaining night photos can be a challenging prospect at the best of time, but this was compounded by the fact that the only Español I know is Cervrza? Por Favor? and his English was equally as good. :) But after some hand gestures and showing him the back of the camera I received an enthusiastic thumbs up and what I can only assume was ‘good job’ in Spanish :)

These were all reasonably short exposure times (under a minute) being that the digital noise would get a little out of hand after that.  I did try and shoot a 30 minute Polaroid exposure using my Land Camera and a elastic band to hold down the shutter button but that it would seem wasn’t nearly long enough for the reciprocity error of The Fuji FP-100 film for I ended up with a black frame. I shot a couple of frames on a Holga as well. We will see if they worked out better. once I am done the roll.

and palm trees don’t look so bad during the day either.

Blogoversary

This September will mark 10 years of jerky jerkiness! Yup September 17 2011 will be this jerks 10 year Blogoversary!!! If I were you I contently wouldn’t bother going to read the first few years of posts because they are riddled with really bad grammar/spelling mistakes! (I mean way way more so then my current bad grammar / spelling mistakes believe it or not I have improved a great deal in the last 10 years)

Snowy Camping/Backcountry Snowboarding In Squamish

Some more photos from our trek up a snowy mountain.

We were attacked by these birds a lot. We did manage to get some awesome Go-Pro video of them eating food from our hands, but they are really aggressive from people feeding them.

The best part about starting the year in a snowy wonderland is that less then 3 days later I was sitting with ice cold beer on a beach in the Dominican Republic, But that is a different story all together…

Snow Camping in Squamish

So it has been a crazy busy year and we are only 16 days in.

The very first day of the new year found me slowly climbing a mountain with my snowboard with Coaxial & Paul. I say slowly because I have spent the last 8 months sitting on my fat ass & I was feeling under the weather. So climbing a mountain was a bit much. We climbed up and spent the night in tents up near the first warming hut on Garibaldi Mountain.

Coaxial with a snowboard backpack

Some of the awesome views along the trail.

This was the hole that we set our tents up in.

Snowshoes!!!

Wonderful sunsets

Loads of fun even though it was super cold over night, I would do it again in a heart beat, only next time I wouldn’t pack so much stuff (for example the warming hut had a built in stove so I didn’t need to haul one up) and next time I would not go up feeling under the weather. However, it was a great way to start the new year!
