North Shore Gas Meters

Just a collection of some photos for the gas meter file!North Shore Gas MetersNorth Shore Gas Meters

Having photographed a large collection of gas meter in my time, the only conclusion that I can come to is that I am utterly amazed that more houses don’t randomly explode from gas leaks. :)

Our Weekend Trek to the Sunshine Coast

So almost on the spur of the moment we decided to road trip  up the sunshine coast and stay at the genius campsite that we found last year.

sunshine-coast - Packing

I tossed a bunch of stuff together, we loaded up the xterra and off we went.

sunshine-coast - Campsite

After a leisurely drive we found our campsite! (the exact same one that we had before) and I was a burly man and made fire.

sunshine-coast-tugboat

This tug took at least 30 min to make it from one side of our view to the other.

sunshine-coast-signs

there was a great many signs telling us to do things and not do other things.

sunshine-coast-Xterra View

an awesome view that we discovered on random deactivated forestry roads.

sunshine-coast-mail

Awesome mail boxes that M wanted to steal.

sunshine-coast-Parking

random disused parking lots with many overgrown signs painted on the walls.

It was a super relaxing weekend.  we were only gone for around 24 hours but it honestly felt like almost a week! You must be in relaxtown when that happens :)

Josh got stuck a lot yesterday…

squamish-valley-road

Iphone photo of awesome!
Miranda grabbed this with her iphone after we got it more muddy and stuck

…and I am sure that he owes me a whole flat of cheap American beer!! :) Yesterday we fired up to Squamish with getting muddy being the goal.  We succeeded! :) Josh kept getting stuck in large mud holes and we kept having to pull him out. This one ended up being way worse then it looks here and took over an hour of shoveling and pulling with the xterra to make it unstuck. After he was fully free from all this mud nonsense, and much to the dismay of my darling wife, he promptly drove though it all again at high speeds.  Only to have later turn around and drive though it again when the road turned into a small lake filled with frogs.

all in all fun and mud where both found! :)

A Note To Thieves

On the heals of the Xterra getting busted into, this makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside!

As a Child I Was Scared of Sea Monkeys!

Seriously! I never had any but I was scared to death of the drawing that was in the comics ad.

seamonkeys

It was a happy sea monkey family hanging out planning evil devilish sea monkey type crime things all the while being completely oblivious to the things outside of the bowl. The little insert of the whole human family creepily staring down at their world like scientists watching some rats in a maze. It was a little much.  That and I couldn’t get behind the whole order pets in the mail thing.  To me pets were always living, breathing, things that could fetch! It creeped me out the way an infestation of termites or wasps would. So this graffiti that I found the other day is equally as creepy to me.  It looks like some fat sea monkey that is mad with power/hunger  and is life size! He could eat any of us and still be hungery!!

That all said My Friend Lisa is rockin out in my kitchen tonight! Super excited! It will be one of the last full band jams in my kitchen as D will have accsess to his new home/jam space soon!  So a whole new chapter in My Friend Lisa

A Crop Of Gas Meters

I am up at this crazy hour to take my wife to her cult meeting. I have kinda a crazy day ahead of me, for I am shooting random Cabinet Ministers, while they get awards for something or other for most of the day. We have some awesome dinner plans, and I have to somehow fit 6-7 hours of studio work around all this :)

Anyway! This photo is from some random travels we had on the weekend. I ended up in an alley some where in Langley or Abbotsford (I don’t recall which) and I came across this crop of Gas meters. I like gas meters! I think they are swell.

The Jerk Is Now Allowed to Play In Public, & Park In Neat Places.

Among a very long list of random out and about errands that I had today was a trek to Vancouver City Hall. I went to the dreaded Cambie construction area to get a commercial permit for the Xterra, mostly so we can park in those nifty 30min commercial zones (as well as at meter till 10:30am with out paying as it turns out) I figured that I was already paying the insurance then I might was well reap the commercial parking benefits. While I was getting all permitted up I figured that My Friend Lisa needed a legal busking license.

Yuppers My Friend Lisa Can preform anywhere in public now (Except immediately adjacent to the Gastown Steam Clock it would seem) and being that it is so fracking nice out, I anticipate that it will happen much more often.

Follow My Friend Lisa On twitter and you can be in the know about when and where we will show up to play next.

Granville Street Pylons

This has been a common sight on Granville street the last while. I took it though a fence so that is what the blue lines are.  1.2 can lose a fence quite well even still.
