Brids Twittering?

Man, so this morning when I woke up I did so to the sounds of birds twittering away to the world. I thought man this is great, it feels like summer, and here I am livening the life and listening to birds twitter. J It set the day off on a great foot as I got up did some work/laundry and then I ran outside to enjoy the wonderful weather that the birds had going on out there. Didn’t think much about it after that. So when I came home I said hello to the kittens in the bedroom and man if I didn’t hear more birds, but wait I didn’t hear them near the window where one would expect to hear birds. Just mild confusion here. After wandering around the room looking for the source I discovered that it was our silly alarm clock. Our alarm clock has 5 or so presets of nature sounds to wake up too. Sounds like the ocean, rainforests, or lions devouring a gazelle, you know nature sounds. It would seem that one of them was birds twittering about whatever birds twitter on about. I think the cats must have stepped on the twitter button this morning when they were using my head as a staging point for attacking each other.

Broadway

So yesterday (I think it was yesterday they are blending in to one another latley) I had to run to Broadway and McDonald area to the Lens & Shutter there to pick up a lens that was sent for repair. While there I thought this is such a neat area I am going to wander about with this camera of mine.

I think that it’s awesome that these old theatres are able to make a good go of it in the GVRD. I do find it odd though that they often play new movies, or movies that are second run! I am not used to small theatres playing mainstream cinema. I always expect that the movie has to have an award or two at Sundance before it can be shown. That is what I am used to with the Garneau and the Princess theatres in Edmonton.

Oh and a dumpster! Complete with numbers! White ones!

So sad :(

From my wanders day before yesterday morning. This is a tree at prospect point in Stanley Park. While it didn’t fall down in the wind storms was damaged enough that they are going to have to cut it down anyway
:(
the whole park is sort of sad when you look at these towering giants and they are broken like match sticks. On the bright side it makes for good stock photos though.
:)
Waiting for some headshots to spit out so I thought I would blog.

Stanley Park @ Night

So tonight I thought that the best cure for insomnia would be to go out and take photos all night.  I am not really an insomniac I just pretend and then use it as an excuse to sleep 3 hours and call it good J The crazy thing about night photos is that you don’t take a lot.  The shutters are so long and the write times to the card (with noise reduction on) are horrendous, but the way things look is so surreal that it’s cool.  I was out last night for 3 hours and I came home with about 125 photos which is a crazy amount for a night shoot. Now compare this to yesterday morning when I was out for about the same time only other people were awake as well, and I shot about 900 photos. (Now do you understand why we have 4.5 terabytes of live HD space?)  I think I am going to make a book about the world at night. God knows I have enough photos of places in the middle of the night. In fact I just love tromping around in the dark and with a camera I have an excuse.  I wandered around Stanley Park for most of the evening, with a quick jaunt down to the bridge.  Man can they hurry up and fix the lights on that damn thing.  One of the pillars wasn’t even light and one out of every four lights on the cables is lit, the rest are missing or burnt out. Horrible I Say! I assume that when they are completely done the retrofit they will look as making it pretty again!  I scouted a wicked wild place to take some photos of the bridge at night. So I will have to wait I guess.) Anyway I should really go to sleep now.
