Hot Weather and Sexy NAS Servers

So on a hot day like today I think it is best to show photos of snow!! We shot a Wedding today that was awesome and air conditioned  We also received the latest gift from Memory Express; our NAS servers and more Hard Drives arrived yesterday and they look like little pigs,

serous they need to be pink and have a nose, ears, and a tail. I am not one to say that computer hardware is cute but I am here. All is good with them thus far… the software is kind of convoluted, but that sort of thing can be over come. Hard drives fit snuggly in the aluminum case (To snuggly almost I had to stick one of the servers in the freezer for 20 min to contract the drives so it could fit.) They dissipate heat super well, one can cook on the heat fins on top and bottom. They are as fast as expected for 10/100 about (10 min a gig or so) Thus far all seems well with them.

In the Beginning there was Man. Then Man purchased a digital camera.

We are actually drowning in data. I spend my days choking and sputtering in the sea of media that surrounds me at my desk. At first a DVD kicked ass. I was able to but every photo I took from the beginning of December 2002 to the end of May 2003 on a single DVD. I thought to my self this really kicks ass I have it made. Then I bought a new camera and my average file sizes increased to the point that December 2003 was barley able to fit on a single DVD. Then another camera came and I started burning 3 then 6 then 10 DVDs a month, this trend continued and brought me to the state that I am in now. We burn 8 to 15 DVDs to back up a single wedding. (22 if it is a four day East Indian wedding) Our network has 3,6 Terabytes in it and my days are spent burning DVD’s Just to keep ahead of the data. I NEED A BETTER SOLUTION!!!! I was hoping that Blue Ray would be the answer but 9ish gig a disk is silly. I want an inexpensive 40 to 80 gig write once media. Why is that so hard?

Anyway More Macro Shots from our drive to the bridal falls

Waiting for the TELUS Guy.

Today has been a work at my desk and wait for the TELUS guy to come and tinker with our TV. I feel like a secretary all last night and into today. I have been mailing letters and filing things like I was anyway.

This was taken back in AB on a trip to visit my mother. Crazy storm fronts and lightning are two things I am going to miss from AB

Crazy Ferns

Yesterday we decided to blow off work (It’s really easy when you are the boss) and went for a drive, we busted open the maps and more or less blindly pointed at something to drive to. When we lifted the finger from the map there was the Bridal Veil Water Falls written underneath. The falls were quite boring so I took photos of the flora instead.
