You Are an Emo Rocker! |
![]() Expressive and deep, lyrics are really your thing. That doesn’t mean you don’t rock out… You just rock out with meaning. For you, rock is more about connecting than grandstanding. |

Whistler
Today we decided that it was high time that we drove to whistler. We have been here to long to have not trekked farther down the 99 then the ferry, so after a decent breakfast with D we drove outta town. Lots to see and many places that I would love to go back to at sunrise/set.

However, I did just about kill this frog (I nearly stepped on it by accident) He does really well to blend in to the environment.

Its not a show unless there is an act of near nakedness.
Well I went to see Art Brut at Richards on Richards tonight with Darren. They played a great show and I what not, the opening ‘band’ was a little more interesting however. Gil Mantera’s Party Dream is some band from Ohio that we lets say is a little on the odd side of things.

The entire set was like this. Prancing around and the slow decay of their wardrobe till they well were prancing around and singing like this

![]()
Art Brut was a bit more civilized when it came to there wardrobe. No near nakedness here

A Night of Debauchery & Nakedness!!!
We went out to a burlesque show at The Lamplighter tonight. It was good. Not feeling so talkative so you get a completely unrelated photo instead.

My Trip to the Library
This morning I walked down to the Library to get a book that I had set away. Nice walk I missed most of the rain. On the way back I took a round about route.
This shot I grabbed in a budget car rental lot right near the library. (It isn’t Cross Processed I just accidentally shot it with a custom white balance from the Kim photo shoot two days ago)

This is a shot from the Royal Bank on the north east corner of Hastings Street and Granville Ave. I wandered in with my head looking at the ceiling and I was greeted by a nice man that worked there. We chatted about the building for a while, about how I wasn’t a tourist, and how I had moved here. I asked about photos to which he replied well normally no, but because we have no clients in right this second, and I feel sorry for you that you are from Edmonton, go ahead. So I snapped a few off with the lens that I had on the camera (I didn’t want to make a big production about it because he was being nice.) But I wish I had the time to slap on the 16 to 35 for it.

It’s Way To Late
Its way to late to really get into a serous blog post not to mention that I have something in my eye, but I feel obligated to post something. Today I found a new red item to post for Photo Friday. This is way better then the previous crap that I managed to dig up. I shot this today on the east side of Granville Island.

War Sucks
All right you all. I think that everyone should go to this so I can take photos of you. I love protests and peace marches, they are such a smorgasbord of photo opportunities.

And Of course because war is stupid. At least as stupid as that dumb redneck that instigated it.
Photo Friday – Red
I know, I know, I am not one to actually participate in Photo Friday. In fact I think that the last time I did was March of last year. Yup March. But you see I am still diligently receiving my Photo Friday email every week and I have good intentions of someday actioning on one. I refuse to unsubscribe to what is basically junk in my inbox, for I feel deep down in my soul that I will again someday choose to participate. Well folks the waiting is over, only 52 Photo Fridays later, I post again!
These are dug up from the deep dark depths of the horribly organized Archives of the instiute. Speaking of the archives I really want a good cataloging program, or some coder out there to give me Getty’s with a nice gui front end and batch key-wording. (And don’t tell me about Extensis Portfolio. I have killed Portfolio. It crapped out. Apparently when the database and folders that it was running off of get to be in excess of 32gig the entire thing breaks down. Who knew that 200 and some DVD’s of photos would add up to 32gig of database and thumbnails. But that is another story for another time.) Any way here they are found the old fashioned way (I simply looked for red things) for your viewing pleasure.

Journalism Portfolio
Last Night & Today I have been pulling together all my past work for See Magazine as well as the other random press work that I have done over the years. I am trying to put together a portfolio to show the local daily’s/weekly’s so they will hopefully let me freelance. As well as that I have been grabbing all my journalism photos that I have been taking for the past 4 years. (4 years!!! When the hell did that happen?) I am finding that I have the same feeling about this past work as I do lately of all my past work… Mediocre. I mean there is some gems in there don’t get me wrong but for the most part. MEDIOCRE!! Arrrg. Ahh well I did however find a couple neat ones that I remember were either a hoot to shoot or that I don’t think i had posted here.

This was a spontaneous protest against education cuts and tuition increases that sprung up out of now where right out side my house. (Nope they weren’t protesting me.:P) The crowd split into two groups that circled the intersection as the light rotated. (Our loft was kitty corner to the building in the background)
