Today was my first day at colourfast. I cant believe just how big that place really is. For those that aren’t in the know, colourfast is a photo lab that does almost all the special photofinishing for most of Canada. By special I mean things like like E6, Kodachrome, black and white, any thing thing that a mini lab cant do (non C41).

Today I was tired of studying and hanging around my house. I looked out side to discover that it was fantastic out. The sun was shining and the people weren’t wearing any jackets, so I decided that I would go for a walk and grab some pictures.
The Day started at City Hall where I was able to grab all kinds of architecture pictures. Some of City Hall itself, and some of the monuments and such around it. I got a great shot of these three men that are always sitting front of the War monument talking..
I then moved on to Rice Howard Way were I ended up going under ground to the edge of the down town core by the Edmonton journal. I wondered around there a lot looking for a great shot but none really came.
I walked back to Commerce place and grabbed a bunch of shots that I have wanted since the first time I was there with mike. I wasn’t able to get them before because the security guard was on us immediately after walking in the door.
I changed from black and white to colour film here and ended up walking back to city hall to see if anything new was happening. From there I ended up at the Shaw Conference Centre were I spent a while taking neat architecture photos.
I walked back to Canada place on my way to meet Miranda after work, when the oddest thing that day happened. I was waiting to cross the street by Stanly Milner Library when a man came up and asked if I wanted to buy a watch. I said no thank you and at that point the walk light came so I started crossing the street. Walking across the other way was guy and a girl that looked very normal, but as we passed she said “we will let you take pictures of us naked”. The guy started laughing in embarrassment and the girl just smiled and kept walking. It was just really weird :)
Well that is my photo day :)

So my membership in

So my membership in the 4×6 finally came through. www.fourbysix.com. 4×6 is an online photography group with bimonthly themed project. I hope that participation in groups like this one can help diversify me as an artist, and hopefully make me think of different ways to be creative in the field. We will see how it goes.
New Film For Me
Tonight I bought two rolls of the Fuji Superia Reala 100 – 24. Fuji claims that this film is ideal for photographing people and special occasions, or for images intended for portraits or enlargements. They claim that it has much finer grain the other films. So I will give it a try.
I also bought three rolls of Ilford HP+400 – 36 So I should be set for the protest tonight:) We will see I guess.

This was taken in the end of January in the Victoria Golf Course. Mike and I had gone out with the intentions of catching a wonderfull sunrise. However the sky was so over cast that day that the sun didnt show its face all day.

Jogging by The River

This shot was taken in the government house park in Edmonton. This park is directly beside the river and has a great view of both the university and of downtown. The Bike trails in this area are great as well, however at the time of this picture they were mostly mud :)

Under the bridge.

This is the under side of a bridge that stretches over White Mud Creek in White Mud park. The Road above is Fox Drive. This is the coolest underside of any bridge that I have seen in Edmonton. It is by far the most engaging of bridge architecture I have seen.
